Hello from Midland, Texas!

September 30, 2013

Wow!
This was a phenomenal week!! Wednesday, during our mission conference with Elder William R. Walker of the Seventy, we all got a chance to go up and shake his hand at the beginning of the meeting. As soon as I introduced myself he said, "Elder Rios I have something for you." He sent for his briefcase and proceeded to hand me a handful of letters from home! He said. "How many times has a General Authority delivered mail to you?" All of the missionaries chuckled at that. It was way cool!! Thank you for that special memory!

In other news, Larry and his daughter Stacie were baptized and confirmed the newest members of the church this last weekend! Picture attached! We are having another baptism for Brittiney this Saturday between sessions of Conference! The following week Marie will enter the waters of baptism to join her family in the Gospel! The Lord is blessing us with work. Elder Lenhart and I are excited to be in this area at this time. Yesterday just after church, we heard of a young man and his dad standing outside wanting some information about the church. They were looking for a church to attend, being new to the area. Chris is fourteen and immediately received fellowship from our young teachers. I was proud of them. They invited him out to the mutual activity this Wednesday and we are going to meet with them this week to give them some information about the true church. :)
My companion and I spent the morning at the driving range hitting some golf balls as a little reward for our labors. The feeling of success is created by attitude! Have a great week!!

Love,
Elder Rios
